Meaning of Meditation

Meditation or often called Semadi is a relaxation practice that involves the release of the mind from all the interesting, burdensome, or worrisome things in our daily life. The meaning of meditation is the act of chewing or flipping through the mind, thinking, contemplating. The definition is, meditation is a structured mental activity, done over a period of time, to analyze, draw conclusions, and take further steps to address, determine the action or solving personal, life, and behavioral problems. In other words, meditation releases us from the suffering of subjective thoughts of good and bad which are proportionally related directly to our attachment to certain thoughts and judgments. We begin to realize that life is an unending series of judgments, thoughts, and subjective deliveries that we intuitively begin to release. In a state of mind free from the activity of thinking, it turns out that humans do not die, not even fainted, and remain conscious.

When done right, our meditation practice will begin to affect our daily lives between our formal meditation sessions. If we are training a certain level of ideals during our meditation sessions, whether it is a calmer, more centered, or more loving level, the goal is not just to awaken that level while sitting in silence in meditation. The great goal is to foster this positive level thoroughly until it becomes a habit, a habit we can apply whenever we need it, every time of day or night.

For example, when we find ourselves getting impatient with someone, we immediately realize it and remind ourselves, both consciously and unconsciously: “I do not want it to be like that!” Then, like a fingerprint, it’s almost like repeating our computer when the error message appears, we close this “bad” session and resurrect the patient and patient attitude towards the person.
